Daniel Parkerabout this book: I read history all the time and writing historical fiction lets me blend some of the history and some of the curiosity of events that we may know nothing about. I especially like to consider the view of the common person of the time period. What was it like during that time? How did they survive? What did they do? I read and researched this particular time period to better understand what people do when there is a vacuum between the old power and the new.
The Good Doctor is my latest work of historical fiction surrounding events at the end of WWII. As the allies begin to encircle the Fatherland, the Germans must focus on surviving, not only against the enemy outside but the crumbling Nazi government.
In this story, I write about a woman who is a mother, a wife, and a surgeon, and how she copes with her losses from the war and what she does to stay alive with the end so imminent.
I hope you enjoy this tale of love, pain, survival, and new beginnings.
