Yonie Richardabout this book: This book is about the effects of voodoo religion, its ceremonies and sacrifices of children, the sex, poisons and potions and the diseases.
I wrote this book because recent political events throughout the world had been changed for so long period of time where it wasn't where i came from. The threats you face in Haiti: you would need to be very lucky in order to survive. To until now, the most prevalent threat you are facing overseas is crime, violence and disease in Haiti. The most important one is the sacrifice of infants.
The primary readers are the travelers, the politicians and anyone who is responsible of the human security and especially infants.
It takes between 6 months and 9 months to write this book.
While i was growing up, i was observing the violence, the daily crime and the cause of death. Go to look at the zombi coming from the cemetery. I was also a witness of how they make poison to kill someone.
I chose this cover because they had accused the Americans on bringing the diseases overseas, and i want to make sure that everyone can fully understand where the diseases in Haiti come from. They build the diseases by their own lifestyle.
The Hardest part was about the poisons that they used to kill people.
I did a lot of research and i also traveled many times while writing this book in order to have the right information not from the rumors but with my eyes.
What i learn from writing my book i discover ''life is not made to be simple'' Here in America, they try their best to keep peace and safety in their area. Like by example, while i was growing up many kids are disappeared and no one ever investigated. I also learn safety and security are extremely important in human life.
I would like to say to my readers that ''Voodoo Intersection: Poverty, crime and disease in Haiti'' is an important book because it provides all kind of information about violence, poisons, diseases, and crime that they must not be ignored. So they can easily pass it to their kids in order for them to leave with safety, peace and happiness.
