Book: Chords for Guitar - Transposable Guitar Chords using the CAGED System by Gareth Evanscategories: Book, Chords for Guitar, Open Chords, Caged Chords, Chord Book, Moveable Chords, Guitar Chords
Gareth Evansabout this book: Chords for Guitar is about movable chord shapes that can be used anywhere on the fret-board. The book contains just over 60 different types of chord shown in 200 shapes, all based on the CAGED system and it's five patterns. Once understood how to use these 200 chords shapes you'll be able to create more chords than you'll ever need.
Rather than document all chords that exist on the fret-board (which would come to the 1000's), it is much easier to look at similarities between chords and form them into groups. The book does this by categorizing chords in terms types and shapes, which are moveable across the fret-board.
An introduction to the music theory behind chords is included for those interested in a deeper understand. Each chord type has a question asking you to work out a chord and answers at the back of the book to check if you go it right.
• "If you're armed with one of these books, you will have everything you will ever require to know all about chords." — Tony Cox, Award winning Acoustic guitarist (South Africa)
