When you've invested a lot of time reading a series you always hope the final book won't turn out to be a disappointment. With Tyler May, I'm glad to say that this book more than delivered. As with all the books in this series the pace is frenetic. You can't help feeling sorry for the characters who barely have time to dust themselves down before another volley of evil is launched against them.

Each book in the series becomes darker and more sinister than its predecessor and in this final installment the beasts are more beastly and the villains more, well, villainous. There are some unexpected twists too, which I won't spoil for you.

Do yourself a favour and immerse yourself in Mr Mears' creative and occasionally disturbing imagination. You won't be disappointed. Just remember to take a deep breath before each chapter.
