Book Review: Geography of the Heart by Fenton Johnsoncategories: Books, Gay & Lesbian, Biographies & Memoirs, gay
A Thought And Life Changing ExperienceWords almost fail me. I am an avid reader and had never heard of Fenton Johnson. I am in the grieving process of 5 dear people in my life in less than 10 months. One being my mother whom I never got to know and had moved home to spend time with her and help care for as we prepared for the time she was going to leave us. She was ill and passed away leaving me with the most incredible memory... one week... and a love so strong. She had read "Geography of the Heart", I found it in a drawer in the early hours and decided to read it.
I am grateful I did - I could not put it down and only three hours later my tears dried. I am truly inspired while I type these words. I believe it is a book that I will read more than once or twice. I love it, it is so beautiful. Thank you Fenton Johnson for eloquently and effectively sharing your experience with me... I am moved.
