Message from the author:
This story is very dear to me. It was intended as a short story for St. Patrick's Day several years ago. I had no plot in mind, no plan at all, only a title. It was to be about a page-and-a-half long, maybe a thousand words. But when I began writing, the characters began telling the story themselves and I couldn't stop until they were done. I cried, laughed, and was surprised myself many, many, times throughout. These characters wrote their own story and it was a joy for me to be a part of it. It was an unforgettable and heartfelt experience. I hope you enjoy it as well. Thank you very much for checking it out.
