Author Sunayna Arya Prasadabout this book: Twelve-year-old Alyssa McCarthy is sick of unfair rules and living with her harsh uncle. But she discovers a sorcerer out to hunt her. He kidnaps Alyssa to Fiji, onto the enchanted island called Yanowic, and she is stuck there thanks to a giant shield unless she can overthrow him. Will Alyssa succeed and defeat the evil wizard?

This is a modern fantasy filled with magical technology and original enchanted creatures. The book was originally published in 2013, but it has been updated to its full potential while the storyline remains the same.

Many readers have compared this book to "Harry Potter". In fact, the "Harry Potter" franchise was a big inspiration source for this book. Other inspiration sources include "Disney Princesses" and pop culture, especially with the technology use in the book.

"From Frights to Flaws, 2nd Edition" is the first installment of the "Alyssa McCarthy's Magical Missions" series. I plan to have seven books total in this series and even a spin-off at some point.
