about this book: Connie is the story of a young girl who comes home from the war where she has been in the land army. It follows the day to day lives of her family neighbours and friends. Her new love and the new love of her friend,it has a comical pleasant story line that would appeal to older people who remember the war and those who enjoy nostalgia. I was inspired to write this book because of all the stories we were told from grandparents and parents over the years.
I enjoyed writing this story as it made me laugh as I wrote. The cover is of a girl of that time and suits the description of pretty kind hearted Connie who likes to sing and please every one. I hope this story makes you feel good as it has my many friends who have read it over again and passed it on to their parents to read, even older children have enjoyed it as it is something they are not familiar with.

An excellent story. I enjoyed it very much - it had me giggerling the whole way through. It's a very good book - you should be proud of your work. [by Brian]
