Book: Blood Blossom by Daryl Hajekcategories: Book, Thriller, Mystery, Dark-Humored Comedy, Action, Revenge, Fiction, General Mainstream Fiction, Family Drama
Daryl Hajekabout this book: The book is a general mainstream fiction in the family drama genre with a dark-humored twist. It is a revenge story about two long-separated sisters, Vivian and Christine, and their mysterious mother, Rose, plus a woman named Julia, all of whom battle wits against one another over an estate.
Readers will find the book entertaining, riveting, captivating, and, at times, comical.
My inspiration came from reading many, many books (I'm an avid bookworm), and from watching a lot of movies and soap operas, all the while coming up with new, different, and ingenious ideas for stories.
More importantly, my inspiration comes from being Deaf. If persons with disabilities can write, so can I.
Primary readers of my book are targeted globally to those who read general mainstream fiction (the likes of Sidney Sheldon, Danielle Stelle, Mary Higgins Clark, Stephen King, John Grisham, James Patterson, to name a few).
I initially wrote the book by hand in cursive script on notebook paper back in the mid-1980s. Wrote intermittently until 2000 when I got into another hobby (beading), then went back to writing full-time in 2011.
The title, "Blood Blossom," came up during the writing process, especially when describing a needlepoint canvas of two roses with blood dripping from its petals.
The cover matches with the title and theme of the book.
The hardest part of writing the book was overcoming writer's block from time to time.
Very little research needed for my book, especially with regards to the airport scene since a lot had been changed due to the consequences of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
I learned a lot from writing my book via my editor during the editing process. What an incredible and positive experience! I'd be more than happy to go through that wild ride again (and again)!
I'd like to say to my readers, "Happy reading!" Keeping it simple here. :)
