Ruth Allenabout this book: Jacqui, Hazel, Paula and Sonia meet for what starts out as a weekly juicy but harmless gossip. Too soon, secrets are traded, and Jacqui's revelations lead them to seek out the sexual fulfillment that has been missing from their lives. For each woman, that fulfillment takes on a different hue. And then things get complicated.
'Living Lives: Living Lies' is about what happens when the depths beneath the surface of apparently successful marriages are revealed. It was inspired by listening to real women sharing their experiences. The story takes that reality and turns it into fiction; a heady mix of intrigue, sex, drama, fun, and some tender moments too. The primary readers of the book are women, but the book has had great reviews from men as well. Just look at this one from David Ruffle:
'So much truth among the lies...so much life amongst the deadwood of relationships...so much heart within the coldness of withering romances and marriages. Loved it, I wish you further success...'
Having lived with my characters for over two years, it was exciting but hard to say 'goodbye' to them. I hope readers will get to know them and care for them as much as I do.
