Author Libby Campbellabout this book: Cynthia Donohue has never known the love of one good man. Yes, she had an affair or two in her foolish youth but that was before her daughter came along and changed her life. At her daughter's wedding Cynthia meets the charming Antony Jacobson. From the moment he sweeps her around the dance floor, Cynthia wants more with him: more time, more love, more romance.

Surely she's too old for such childish dreams.

Antony doesn't think so.

When she decides to move to the West Coast, Antony joins her. He says he wants to help her with the new house. He has little idea how much help she needs.

For almost a year Cynthia has been suffering from a bad back and joint pain. Troubled by low level depression and a general lack of energy, Cynthia refuses to seek medical assistance. Antony appoints himself her personal guardian. He orders her to the doctor.

Cynthia complains that Antony is too bossy. He doesn't deny it. He is there to remind her of her obligation to take care of herself, with a trip over his knee when necessary. To her surprise, Cynthia finds she likes – she wants – Antony's loving correction. Is Antony too much, too soon, or is he just what the doctor ordered?

Please note: Holding Cynthia is intended for adults only. Spanking and other sexual activities represented in this book are fantasies only, intended for adults.

Inspiration for writing this book: Unsuitable, a paper put out by Duke University, reports that there is little to no age diversity in romance novels. The average age of the heroine in romance novels is 24-26 years old. (https://sites.duke.edu/unsuitable/age-diversity/).

That one fact challenged me to write a story of mature love. I hoped to portray the rising affection between two adults, one of whom faces a major medical crisis. The message that I hope readers will take away from Holding Cynthia is that love may bloom at any time in a person's life. It's not the exclusive realm of the young.
