Araminta Gunterabout this book: Haeven is a terrifying apocalyptic scenario that could so easily happen. This is a story I have wanted to write for some time. Due to the subject matter, I found it difficult and in parts emotional. My inspiration was the state of this country and the many threats we face.
Finding an appropriate title was hard. I wanted to call it Haven, but decided there two many books with that title.
As for the cover, I felt the picture expressed the mood of the story perfectly. It's a scene of destruction, yet at the same time the colour softens the overall frightening atmosphere.
The book has taken nearly a year to write. I imagine my primary readers will be lovers of Dystopian and apocalyptic books.
Writing Haeven made me realise how important family and friends are. And how in the midst of hatred, cruelty and death. love can still triumph.
We live in confused and dangerous times. I believe Haeven is a warning of what could happen if we don't wake up and see what is happening in our country and the rest of the world.
