Rebecca Allen-Bryantabout this book: This book is about a young inner city girl with aspirations of becoming a high powered attorney. After her high school graduation follow her journey as she learns lessons in life, college, friends, commitments, love and fear. She marries a young man with the same aspirations, but when the doors open for her and not for him his love turns into jealousy. Unfortunately, the story has a tragic ending.
I wrote this book out of a desire that I had since I was in my early twenties. When I lost my good government job I became somewhat depressed because I didn't know what I wanted to do. One day as I was praying the holy spirit told me to write. I started to write and the thoughts just kept coming.
Although this book is a fiction it is a must read for any young lady or woman who have dreams but get side tracked by a jealous or obsessive mate. In the story I wrote about a young lady so determined and focused she wasn't going to let anyone get in her way. Unfortunately, when you marry the one you love and things become sour what are you to do?
About the title I wanted something so catchy that when people heard it they would become intrigued. I also chose a cover that captured what I was trying relay in the book. In my mind's eye I wanted a man with green eyes to match his jealous tendencies in the story.
Again, although this story is a fiction it lends to real life situations. What I would like for the readers to take away from this story is to stay focused on your dreams. Also, notice warning signs whenever you become uneasy or whenever someone tries to dictate your every move or become mentally or physically abusive it's time to leave. Think about your safety choose not to be a victim!
