Book: A Week in the Life of Chairdog Bongo by Allan Neilcategories: Book, Cavalier, Adventures, Veterinarians, Play, Pets, Dog
Allan Neilabout this book: Bongo is not just a mere dog. He is a raconteur, a philosopher, maybe a bit opinionated with definite views on cats, vets, and food. He has an acute awareness of how his owner likes to keep him on a knife edge of starvation. Of course, he is not just any old canine. He is a #Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with loads of friends among the canine community. He accepts that he had to have some assistance in the writing of the book because, even though his mind is razor sharp and his body very active, he found it impossible to write as he had great difficulty holding a pen and his claws kept slipping off the computer keyboard! He was, therefore, assisted in the production by his owner, 'The Boss'.
He has various adventures in his tale, including his maltreatment during a family dinner and meeting his friends in various circumstances, an encounter with a cat that thinks it is a dog, and a harrowing account of a visit to 'The Fingerman.'
The book is equally suitable material for dog lovers and children, and is a memorial to my own beautiful 'Cavi' who, very sadly, succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the age of eight.
