Steven LePoidevinabout this book: Life was good. A country home, gardens, chickens, dogs, cats, goats and children. And a comfortable retirement not that many years down the road. But all was about to change.
Soon after I turned fifty, my world came crashing down when my 20-year marriage suddenly ended. This book started off as a venting process way back in 2004 when I first put a few words to paper describing my feelings and experiences at the time.
Recently, I went back to the original manuscript and beefed up each chapter after doing a little research on the various topics that I discuss in the book. How do you deal with teenagers, finances, dating, sex and all your emotional baggage when you are starting over later in life? Some rely on counselors and therapists…I say to just kick yourself in the butt and get on with the rest of your life!
Those divorcing in midlife have a lot in common. I hope that others going through the same situations as I did will be able to relate to my own experiences and gain a little insight into why they broke up in the first place and how they can refrain from making similar mistakes in the future.
I have discovered that there is life after divorce, an exciting life that I could not have imagined before that fateful year. Hopefully, I can provide a little inspiration to others and set them on their own path to a new, rewarding future.
