Frances Hartabout this book: Lean Not on Your Understanding is my account of my personal journey, as I struggled to cope with the loss of my daughter, Gail. In the book, I describe the intense nature of the changes that followed Gail's passing. I did not find it easy, writing this book, but I was determined to share my experience with readers and to offer them first hand advice drawn from having to cope with such a deep and personal loss.
I believe this book will be a source of comfort and help for both those who have experienced the loss of a child and for those who may know someone who has. My journey back from such a loss has not been easy and it may never really be complete. However, there is much to be gained from understanding how to carry on in a way that gives hope and meaning to each day that follows the loss of a precious loved one. That is my hope for every reader that picks up this book and reads my story.
