Victoria Randallabout this book: The Witchstone is a dark fantasy tale for readers who enjoy atmospheric quest stories with wizards, kings, and a flying horse. I began writing it with the idea that in every person, no matter how wicked, there is a spark that can be fanned to flame and that anyone can change his life.
The wizard Fenrulf is bent on vengeance for his tormented youth; he thinks of nothing but destruction. The enchantress Sibele clings to life long past her right to continue living and steals youth and beauty from others. Together they go in search of the stolen Stone, and discover in the end that vengeance and never-ending youth are goals not worthy of them, but there is something else more valuable.
Along with the characters, during the writing of the book I climbed out of a dark place and ended by becoming a Christian. One reviewer said: "Vivid, thrilling fantasy! The writing is descriptive and spare, the plot has enough twists and anxiety to keep you gasping. Worth seeking out and keeping!"
