Theresa Gomesabout this book: I have been a criminal defense attorney for the past eight years. Prior to becoming a defense attorney, I worked as a police officer for nine and one half years. After being involved in both sides of the law, I thought it would be a good idea to write a book based on my experience in the criminal court system.
The main reason for writing this book was to provide the everyday citizen with some important information about the criminal court process. Many people make foolish mistakes and find themselves involved in a process that they know nothing about. My hope is that this book will provide these individuals, and others who have an interest in the criminal court system, with some basic information about the criminal court process.
This book is not intended to be a substitute for a criminal defense attorney. It is merely intended to give the reader basic information that is sometimes difficult to find. Anyone who finds himself charged with a crime should consult an attorney immediately.
