Radine Trees Nehringabout this book: "Heigh-ho,come to the fair." Good way to have fun? Well, maybe not!
In this seventh Carrie McCrite and Henry King sleuthing adventure, their friend, Ozarks native Shirley Booth, is taking her baby quilts and cuddlies to sell at the War Eagle Craft Fair. Carrie and Henry look forward to helping her out during four days at one of the largest and longest-running craft fairs in the United States. Then a woman claiming to be Carrie's cousin appears. Mysterious cousin Edie shows a peculiar interest in the fair, and, it seems, has some kind of attachment to drug-dealing. What next? Among other things: Disturbing and dangerous family relationships, deadly drug dealers, and--death are hiding behind the scenes at the fair!
I hope all mystery fans will enjoy reading this story as much as I enjoyed researching and writing it! The War Eagle Fair is real, as are all the popular tourist destinations in the book. Setting a work of fiction at a real event and real place can offer special challenges, I admit, but also add reality to the story and offer writer and reader a whole lot of enjoyment!
