about this book: I was inspired to write the Ice Storm Murders in memory of my mother's experience in the ice storm of 1998 in Ontario and Quebec. The storm and a downed electrical wire across her driveway kept her locked alone, with no heat or electricity, in her house for four days. She was 77-years-old. The book includes a prequel in short story form called Homicide in Haliburton.
This is book 6 of my Dangerous Journeys series and traps Anne Mcphail, doctor and amateur genealogist in a lodge with her lover Thomas Beauchamp, assorted wedding guests and a killer. Anne finds the bride dead in her bedroom, and then a guest disappears.
The others think he's simply left, but has he? Anne and Thomas are roped into investigating the murder for the sake of two small children trapped with them. Meanwhile, Anne is making a decision about her future with Thomas. That is, if she has a future, after the killer turns his attention to her.
