Kathleen Heringabout this book: Many people have spotted a hand print in newly poured concrete. But, in the opening chapter of RIPPED, STRIPPED AND FLIPPED, character Laura Howard finds a human hand buried near her work site. After that calamity, it's just one catastrophe after another for interior decorator Laura Howard, who is a partner at Graham Construction, the company that is restoring a 19th Century Italianate House.
The book is the second in the Designer Mystery series by Kathleen Hering. The first book in the string -- HAMMERED, NAILED AND SCREWED -- was listed for a brief period among the best sellers on Amazon.com after a sudden spike in sales during its summer release.
"My writing goals are fairly straight forward," Ms. Hering reports. "Not dirty, not deep, and no vampires. That's my goal." But, there is mystery and suspense, punctuated by quick wit and humor. Off-the-wall decorating tips by character Laura Howard are included at the end of each chapter.
RIPPED, FLIPPED AND STRIPPED is the second book of three in the Designer Mystery series. Ms. Hering began the series after retiring from her position as a middle school principal.
