My grandparents settled in the area I've renamed Morris Springs in the early 1900's. They came by wagon train and forged farms out of wilderness, enduring everything from tornadoes to blizzards to blistering heat to raise their families. Blame it on Texas draws on some of those experiences, but mostly on the sense of neighbor helping neighbor when times are hard. Though Blame it on Texas is a contemporary romance, you still feel that sense of community through the trials of the characters.
The Blue Heeler in Blame it on Texas is based on my own dog, Blue, who sadly passed away this summer. I have never had a more loving, more protective companion.
