Kristina Knightabout this book: The Saint's Devilish Deal is a contemporary romance novel set in one of my favorite places in the world - Puerto Vallarta. I love the feel of Old Mexico that comes through this thoroughly modern vacation destination. When the characters of Santiago, an ex-surfer, bad-boy type, and Esmerelda, a by-the-book manager, came to me I just knew I had to send them there. Didn't hurt that I was writing this book in the dead of winter, in Northern Ohio and I needed a little extra sunshine - even the imaginary variety! - at the time.
Santiago and Esme have a past, a very tumultuous past that is tied in to the villa they now must work together to save. Neither wants to trust the attraction that still runs rampant between them, but they find it harder to deny as the days go by and the temperatures get hotter.
At the heart of Santiago and Esme's story is the truth that we all have to accept that our pasts may have helped to build us, but they don't have to continue to hold us back - or keep us down. As Santiago and Esme learn to trust one another they each put some of those demons from the past firmly in the past - so they can emerge into a brighter future - but will they emerge together?
