P.C. Zickabout this book: I love the news. I worked as a reporter for a few years and studied journalism. It was inevitable that one of the Crandall siblings would be a journalist and in this age of cable news, I created a network and a show for Diamond Crandall.
He's young and handsome and he's the anchor of The Diamond Report on Shore Network News out of Chicago. Then his ratings-hungry producer decides he needs a co-anchor to bring diversity. Hope Colson fits the bill--she's a woman and black. Diamond is disgusted by his producer's decision but after working a mass shooting scene with Hope, he decides she deserves the job, because of her talent not because of her looks.
But when Hope panics at the mention of the shooting, Diamond worries that she won't be able to handle crisis situations.
As her story unfolds, it's obvious Hope has trauma in her past, but so does Diamond. Both must figure out how to cope as they discover the attraction between them goes on long after the cameras are turned off.
Once again, the Crandall family provides the catalyst and safety net for discovering the important of love and family.
