Wendy Holleyabout this book: Torn from the headlines, A Matter of Courage delves into the life of a woman fleeing from her famous athlete husband who is abusive. With her life in danger, Irene is faced with making the difficult decision to start over in a small town in Montana.
Irene must stay undercover - tossing her credit cards, ditching her Mercedes, and staying off of social media. Irene abandons her wealthy lifestyle and struggles to get by.
Trent is a warm-hearted conservation officer in western Montana. As a favor to his childhood friend, Trent agrees to help keep Irene safe. But keeping his heart safe from falling for a married woman on the run is a challenge he didn't anticipate.
Rick Brennan will do anything to win, including taking performance enhancing drugs. He hates to lose and vows find Irene.
Inspired by a Ken Burns documentary, I took two years to research domestic abuse, steroid use and write the story. The easy part of writing Courage was relating to a woman who moved to a small town in Montana and started life over because I did it.
A Matter of Courage is book one in the Sapphire Series. A series of novels set in Western Montana. The stories are character driven romantic suspense, written to encourage others in faith, hope and love.
