Book Review: The McKinsey Engagement - A Powerful Toolkit for More Efficient and Effective Team Problem Solving by Ph.D. Paul N. Frigacategories: Books, Business & Investing, Consulting
Author: Paul N. Friga Ph.D.
Publisher: McGraw-Hill Education
Problem Solving for DummiesHighly recommended for anyone who made it through his academic career and into the working world without figuring out basic problem solving, either via classes or common sense. The author touts his framework as being based on the scientific method, perhaps to add some intellectual legitimacy. If you don't find yourself put off by the simplicity, you'll likely find yourself put off by the comparison of McKinsey consultants to Army Green Berets. Consultants get paid astronomical sums to tell their clients something they already know; Green Berets put their lives on the line to defend the country. It's a brilliant and completely accurate comparison!
