Duncan Wallaceabout this book: So, I wrote this book to appeal to people. People of all ages, colours and styles. People of wealth and those in poverty. It means a lot to me to find myself in the text and I did so with my main character, Arthur, who starts out on the road, not expecting much. Before too long he leaves the confines of a stable but perhaps nauseous time in the shelter of the northern hills on the spur of his own enthusiasm.
Soon he is zapped by strange intrusive beings in the form of the struggles on the road and the people who interrupt his steady passage. Gradually these invasions become more constant and cumbersome until he is finally called to action.
It is a story about growing up, and growing up on the road. And how sometimes there is a line in the things that surround us that causes us to react for better or for worse. It forms us. Arthur is a hero.
