Elizabeth Playerabout this book: This is a festive story set in my home town of Penzance. Beth is all set to spend the Christmas holidays in Scotland but her mother has a fall and she makes a mercy dash to Cornwall. I was prompted to write this story when attending a bazaar at the local church hall last year. I love the hustle and bustle of Christmas and that's what I hope is conveyed in my story, along with family love and a little romance. My message to readers is 'we should cherish our family every single day, but just a little bit more around Christmas time.
I came up with the title after seeing the name locally 'Shangri-La' on a plaque outside a bungalow. I thought it was perfect. Old fashioned and romantic full of optimism.
Also, GUIDE DOGS is the charity that I volunteer for and I shall be donating all my royalties to them. Here's hoping for lots of sales.
