Book Review: Betrayed! by Stan Telchincategories: Books, Teens, Religion & Spirituality, Judaism, christianity
Not A Truthful BookThe author passes this book off as being a truthful and factual account of the story of his family. I read the book and was initially deeply moved but later, a local Christian bookstore owner brought to my attention that the daughter Ann, who is mentioned in the book, has gone public and stated the book is not truthful. The bookstore owner has since pulled the book and when I did an internet check on the daughter's name (Ann Telchin), I found her website and many others detailing the controversy surrounding the author.
This book should be assumed to be a truthful account by any reader as clearly, it is not. It would seem as though Mr. Telchin has some difficulty in accurately portraying his story. Certainly, he appears to disregard the truth and write solely for the sake of creating a good story in the mind of the reader but this comes at the expense of the reader and sadly, the expense of his own family.
