M. L. Hamiltonabout this book: What happens when a bully gets bullied?
In Speak No Evil, Book 2 of the Rustic Knoll Bible Camp series, you'll get inside the head of Taylor Dixon, the bully from Book 1.
Why would a 15 yr. old boy want to make everyone's life miserable? Usually, kids put others down to make themselves feel better by comparison, or to demonstrate control when their lives are out of their control. That's Taylor. He feels small and insignificant at home. He's carrying a lot of resentment and anger that he vents on anyone who crosses his path.
I didn't much care for Taylor myself when I started writing his story. It was a challenge to take a very unlikeable character and make him sympathetic so the reader will want to cheer him on. But as I got to know Taylor and understood the depth of his pain, I grew to really like this kid.
Like most boys his age, Taylor can't wait to get his driver's license and a car. He's got dreams, but the only one who believes in his dreams is his younger sister. She's a handful, and even though he often pays the price for her little adventures, how can he turn his back on the one person who believes in him?
Taylor's story will touch your heart in many ways. He unknowingly demonstrates God's unconditional love, and Jesus's willingness to take our punishment. This is a redemption story filled with camp pranks, adventure, and a heart-stopping climax that will keep you smiling even after you close the book.
