"Oatcakes, Tea, and Me" is a Christian novel telling the story of Ann Grant. She is an older widow, and after her grandson (who she raised) gets married and moves away, Ann goes through a period of time when she feels as if her life is over.
Then her grandchildren invite her to go with them to Scotland--never realizing what God has waiting for her there.
This is a story of family, faith, and God's unending faithfulness to us as his children.
I hope my readers of ALL ages enjoy this book. It is written from the point-of-view of more mature characters than I usually have in my books, but the story required it. And I think it will touch all readers.
Doing the research on this book was so much fun. I have totally fallen in love with Google Earth as it allows you to travel the roads and streets through villages and cities as if you were actually there. It has been an extremely useful tool for me as I've never actually been to the area this book is based in, but I' hoping my readers won't even realize that. If I've done a good job of writing, it won't even be an issue!
