Terry L. Mooreabout this book: Being a Christian I have experienced and seen too many Christians who are frustrated and confused in their relationship to Christ. I wrote this book so people will understand how the mind is the starting point of spiritual growth, that when the mind is changed and strengthened through the work of Christ and the Word of God, they become successful in recognizing temptation and seeing sin for what it is and its consequences. When readers apply what they learned in Guarding Your Mind, they will desire to live the abundant life Christ promised; they will love God, seek Him, and long to go deeper in their relationship with Him. I have had a burden on my heart for professing Christians who desire to live for the Lord but are struggling in their walk because they don't realize their mental and moral activities is holding them back from all that God has for them.
This book will greatly benefit new Christians, for it uses Scripture and instruction about how God made us to receive His Word, which shapes and molds our lives. Because Christians, like every human being, experience anxiety, stress, fear, doubts, and sin problems, Guarding Your Mind gives examples and solutions to bring hope and direction. Writing this book has taught me the difference between studying God's Word and just reading it. It has also taught me how to gain a growing love for God's truth and a better understanding of what biblical knowledge promotes in us. Over the eight months of writing it, the hardest part was making sure that I conveyed my message to the readers in a way that I was accurately representing what God's Word teaches.
what to read next: if you read and liked this book...
Guarding Your MindI really enjoyed this book! It strongly relays the concept of what effects your mind and how we need to stay focused on the Lord. The book points you consistently to what God had to say from the bible about a variety of struggles that Christians have. It made me realize how much God wants to guide us by His truths for His purpose He has for us. It also shows how important our gifts are which God has given us and to understand their function.
