Beca Lewisabout this book: This book took me forever to write! I had the idea, but knew that all the concepts that I had been using for myself really needed to be tested with others to be sure that they were transferable and true! So, I started teaching The Shift as a seminar and class to people in the Los Angeles Area where I lived and worked as a Certified Financial Planner in downtown LA.
Did these concepts of perception and spirituality go hand in hand with being a CFP. Absolutely! For me, if the spiritual ideas and principles are not helpful than they sound like blah-blah-blah.
After teaching The Shift for a few years, I started writing the book. I thought it would only take me a year or two, but instead it was over 8 years in the making. I kept tweaking it based on what I was learning by teaching The Shift, and my own life lessons.
After 911, I knew I had to simply push through the pain of getting it right, and went off by myself for a week to finish the writing, and later took all the savings I had and published it, since my publisher was dragging his feet.
Even though I have continued to write more books, I felt at the time (and still do), that in this book I had kept a commitment to myself and others … and that makes it the most precious book of all.
