 Dubious Jungles? Dubious Talent

It seems like every three months or so, my local bookstore has a new book by Travis Thrasher in its bargain bin. I've looked at a few of them with bemused interest, wondering how this guy continues to get his stuff published and, more importantly, why. All of his material seems to be a straight-forward non-Christian story with a little "pray to the Lord" mixed in near the end to satisfy his publisher's (Moody Press) requirements.

It reminds me of that "South Park" episode where the guys start a Christian rock band and Cartman details how to write a Christian rock song, "just write a love song, but instead of using the word 'girl' use the word 'Jesus.'" I see more of the same here in the adventures of this Indiana Jones knock-off, who is a "Christian adventurer." Check this book out only if you find your well-crafted fiction not written under the stress of a Moody Press contract deadline boring.
