Arlene Rains Graberabout this book: Pringle Taylor is suddenly confronted with decisions to make. She has a successful career teaching underprivileged children, lives in Brooklyn's Park Slope borough and dates to what most would call the perfect man. Her days are spent in the classroom, while evenings are filled with helping those in need, dates with Hunter, or pouring over lesson plans for school. Best friend Brooke, provides a constant support system as confidant, counselor, and comrade in adventure. It's a life full of fun and joy until a series of events thrust her into emotional despair.
Complications emerge throwing Pringle's organized life into a crisis mode. Out of the blue, Brooke embarks on a whirlwind marriage. While Pringle wants her to be happy, she's afraid that Brooke has made an impulsive decision. Additional anxieties surface as Pringle worries that the marriage will change their closeness. Will she lose her best friend to a world of husbands and children?
The school where she teaches suddenly closes due to a lack of funding, and Hunter, her boyfriend proposes. She should be happy, right? Maybe, but Pringle likes her relationship with Hunter just the way it is. It is uncomplicated and steady. She feels that marriage might ruin things—or is there another hidden reason?
Next door neighbor RAY befriends her with long evenings of conversation. It's a harmless easy friendship until an evitable spark develops. While neither acts on it, Pringle is aware that this chemistry does not exist with Hunter. Should she settle for a stable robotic life without passion, or break off the engagement, and make a fresh start in a new job and new surroundings?
