Tim Hughesabout this book: The Impact Series is primarily about the impact that each of us has on those we come into contact with every day. We affect these people either positively or negatively. As Christians, the positive light of the Holy Spirit shines through us, sometimes despite our best efforts to quench it with our negative actions. Sometimes our smallest gestures have the biggest effects on others.
Convicted, the first book of the Impact Series, takes it's inspiration from Jesus' parable of The Good Samaritan. It's a tale of betrayal, murder, political corruption and spiritual awakening. And of course, it's about the unexpected impact we have on those around us.
The primary readers of the book are going to be those who enjoy Christian fiction. However, those who enjoy more standard suspense thrillers will probably enjoy the books as well.
The most difficult part of writing this book was the editing. I wasn't prepared for the amount of time and effort it would take to appropriately edit the book. My wife was the driving force in the editing arena. Six drafts later, she had helped me take a nearly unreadable original copy and turn it into the final product.
The main intent of Convicted is to entertain. Along the way, though, I hope that my reader can identify with one or more of the characters. If the plot or the characters can cause my reader to pause for a moment and reflect on their own life and possibly draw a little closer to God, then Convicted is a success.
