Book: Hooray for a Fun Day! - A Small Town Celebration by Brenda DeHaancategories: Book, Holidays and Celebrations, Carnival Rides, Summer Fun, Parades and Carnivals, Annual Traditions, Merry-Go-Round, Ferris Wheel, Small Towns, Children's Picture Book
Brenda DeHaanabout this book: Kids love parades and carnivals! In a "normal" summer, many towns have an annual celebration that becomes a beloved tradition.
"Hooray for a Fun Day!" shows a small town celebration. The book has many color photographs of carnival rides and more. Even if kids can't go to a carnival right now, they can still enjoy one with this book. They can talk about their favorite rides and smile.
I took pictures at two small town celebrations last year and the previous year. My friend gave me the idea of writing about my town's celebration. I had planned to write this book earlier but wrote different books instead. So many celebrations have been cancelled for Summer 2020 that June seemed like a good time to finish this book.
It is geared for preschool and younger elementary students. It has more pictures than words. The book is available in paperback and as a Kindle book. If you select the e-book version, the pictures will look much better in color (if you have an e-book reader or app that shows color).
I still vividly remember my hometown's Stinker Days (strange name, I know!). Those days were a highlight of the summer!
