Jerri Blair about this book: This is a collection of short stories that tell the heart rending tales of children whose lives have brought them into the legal system. During my career as an attorney, I represented countless people embroiled in the legal system because of children. I was the go to girl for all cases where unusual factual scenarios brought to light situations where there might exist a bond between child and adult that deserved the protection of the constitution in the same manner the bond between biological parent and child is protected. This tells the stories of those type of situations. All of the stories are fiction, but they are all inspired by the things I saw happening in courtrooms that affected children's lives. It is not a book for the faint-hearted, but I can assure you that the tales it tells are only a few that I saw duplicated in the real world. Children are much tougher and more cognizant of the realities around them than most people would believe.
