Denise Mistichabout this book: The Great Majestic Fortress is a sweet little book for children, grades 2 & 3. It represents certain, important pieces of American history in each chapter with the theme that God was always there calling out. It reminds young readers of sacrifices made to give us this land and to look to God for guidance.
The stories came to me years ago as I marveled at the size of a massive oak tree near my home in Tennessee. Given the size of that beauty, I knew the tree must be at least 200 years of age. It must have seen a lot of history during those long years. The stories in each chapter take place at the base of that tree.
I call it The Great Majestic Fortress after the majestic, old oak and after our nation where we have been provided for and protected for so many years. Look closely and you will find Psalms 91.
To show my appreciation for those who served my country, I donate at least 10% of my profits to homeless veterans through a non-profit organization that gets them off the streets and back on their feet.
Through Veterans Day 2012, I am donating 25% on my paperback and 100% (profit) on the kindle version.
