about this book: Synopsis: Brrr! Jazmine is feeling cold, hungry, and lonely—and when she passes a picture window and sees her two friends, Kurt and Gert, in the warm, cozy house, she also feels a bit jealous! But this little dog will soon meet a handsome black and brown beagle named Bagel, who knows what it's like to be alone. Join Jazmine and Bagel as they form new friendships and embark on new adventures together! It's a story that will delight children of all ages and remind us of the importance of friends

As a substitute teacher I see how many students struggle to learn to read and how they struggle to understand high frequency words and pronunciation applications. This made me think and with four beagles at home that always provide adventures and fun experiences I thought it would be a cute concept to utilize. I began writing this illustrated children's book for children (12 months-second grade) who are beginning the reading process or for those struggling readers; consequently, it contains an introduction or review of high frequency words, phonograms, whole words, and pronunciation within a storyline.

Excellent children's book that incorporates phonics and the value of friendship

This was an excellent and cute children's book that teaches children the value and meaning of friendship old and new . The book has cute and well drawn illustrations to help a child imagine the feelings and environment of the characters and the text as well as engage their imaginations. The author did a great job in utilizing high frequency words and phonics to help a child learn the sounds and pronunciation of the text throughout the book. The book ending leaves is also unique because it does not fully end and leaves the storyline open for future story's. While the book is geared towards Grade level Pre-K -5 with the use of high frequency words and phonics all age groups will love the story and look forward to more when it comes! [by Jessica]
