Ian Kayeabout this book: The Shellies adventure continues. A new invention sees Rainbow taking to the sky. New characters appear in the form of Skipper and the other of the Boggle clan. The theme of the story is how a seal pup Splash has lost his friends. In order to search far and wide Crabby and co have to put their thinking caps on and make a glider. All ends well when Splash and his pals are reunited.
Along the way Barnacle and Crabby visit the mysterious Boggle Bay (now home to Skipper and his friends.)
Crabby is invited to journey in the Boggles 'hot air envelope.'
Research (along with inspiration)included visiting a secluded cove on the Yorkshire Coast in England and discovering how hang gliders are designed. So this tale really is from a 'beach full of stories!'
All the character are brought to life by our illustrator and friend Joe. My partner (Marie)assisted with creating this book. Originally the title was just a throw away remark, but the more we thought about it, (as the saying goes!)
