Kamon Therrienabout this book: Children often ask me to read them Mermaid stories. And I read them many, but most mermaid stories are intended for girls. And in my library I see little girls borrowing mermaid books and little boys interested, looking for something similar but intended for them. Most of the times, boys cannot find a "mermaid boy story" to read. So I wrote one.
The story of Fliss the Merboy can be read by both girls and boys. Fliss is a Merboy who does not remember who his father is; because his father left when he and his sisters were still babies. Fliss who loves adventures and races with fishes finds himself one day, captured by scientists. Fliss get saved by a stranger; not knowing that his savior is his father.
Fathers are sometimes absent from their children's life, I wanted this story to be a mother helper. The story is simple and explains that even if the father is absent, he can still care for his children.
