Heidy Ramosabout this book: It's about my childhood in the farm. I help my Grandpa farm our land, growing-up with my grandparents we are all task to do chores and I happily join in to help. My children when they were young, they always ask me where I grew-up and most of the time they ask when I'm reading them bedtime stories...so instead of reading them a book , I narrated my childhood experience.
This book is primarily for 6-8 years old but I have adults who read it that enjoys it.I wrote this book for 3 month's. I come-up with the title, The Girl Who Wears Gumamela Flower because when I was doing the farming with my Grandpa, I wear this flower all the time-it grows abundantly in my back yard.
The cover design is basically my backyard. The hardest part of writing this book is knowing how children think and how they will understand the flow of the story and grammar-my native tongue is Tagalog.I din't research it-it's my biography as a child.
I have learn that writing takes a lot of guts, getting proficient in grammar and learning to accept criticism-learn and study from it.
All I could say to them:give my story a chance, they will love it once they leaf through the pages of my life.
what to read next: if you read and liked this book...
