Book: Ted Bear Esq. - his photo album (Small Folk Tales) by Christine Larsencategories: Book, Teddy Bears, Bedtime Stories, Read Aloud, Early Reader, Small Folk, Photo Album, Soft Toys, Children's Book
Christine Larsenabout this book: Ted Bear is in his senior years now, retired and spending most of his time reminiscing in the chair he once shared with his mother Christine, 60+ years ago.
He needs specs these days to fully enjoy this third e-book in the series – 'Small Folk Tales', but don't be misled into thinking Ted Bear lacks spirit in his later years.
It was Ted who demanded the 'Esq.' addition to his name (yes, it IS a vanity but at his age, who's going to argue with him?). The same prima donna threatened 'go slow' action if Christine didn't write appropriate comments to accompany her photos of him ('Go slow'? How much slower than full stop CAN you go?). There was never a question in Ted's mind that his name and title would be THE title of his book, and his photo would be the front cover of his album.
Even though there were times when Christine wondered who was really writing this book, she had no doubt that everyone should have a Ted Bear in their lives, with ears full of whispered secrets and dreams, and fur full of tears – both happy and sad. And speaking of tears, on Christine's website she wrote –
'How have I loved thee Ted? Let me count the ways'.
Ted and Christine both reach for the tissues at such moments (truthfully, Christine admits to doing the reaching and mopping), but it's a fact – there's nothing like a cuddle with your oldest mate... your best friend through thick and thin (even if there's a bit more of the thick around some waistlines, and a bit more of the thin on top these days).
NOW will Ted Bear Esq. be satisfied with this pictorial study of him and his life? Christine has a sneaking suspicion he'll demand more… what do you think?
