about this book: We typically write about places we have lived or visited and Las Vegas is one of those places. We have spent some time in Las Vegas and love the scenery and the replicas of famous building from around the world like the Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, etc. We thought the birds would enjoy the same sights.

This time several of the birds remained behind in San Diego. The Doves had just made new friends with Sadie and the Seagulls at the San Diego pier and the Sparrow boys just wanted to hang back at Balboa Park and relax. That left Robby, Ricky, Ruby, Benny, Jon, Jill, Joy and Josie to fly to Vegas. Along the way they spot the Hoover Dam and they are in awe. After spending the night the birds fly to Lake Mead and stop for a brief rest. What they don't know is Hershey, the cat from our first book, is also at the park. Hershey stalks the birds but fails once again to catch them.

Once in Vegas the birds meet a Pink Flamingo named Penny and she gives them food and lodging. The following morning Penny gives the birds insight on where in Las Vegas to visit. The birds fly to the Mirage and check out the tigers and dolphins at the secret garden. Then the go to the Eiffel Tower, the Stratosphere and many other places. They even fly to the top of the Luxor and make silhouettes from the powerful light beam shooting straight up in the sky. Even Benny the Blackbird gives this a try. The following day the birds dance over the tops of the Bellagio Fountains. Their vacation was wonderful and now it's time to fly back to San Diego.

Hershey the Cat goes on to see his parents. He hasn't seen them since he was a little kitten. Hershey's father tells him he shouldn't bully the small birds.

Hershey vows he will change his evil ways. Hershey also find out he has brothers and sisters living in Minnesota.

Hopefully, Hershey will meet his siblings someday soon. It's likely Hershey will be taking a road trip himself to reunite with his brothers and sisters. I wonder if he will cross paths with our birds once again.
