about this book: As a former English teacher it has always been one of my passions to get more children to read more books, especially boys. I want children to experience the joy of reading I felt as a child and to escape into an exciting adventure for a few hours. Even in the most difficult of circumstances I try to show my characters overcoming difficulties, bouncing back from bullying, for example, and facing danger with humour and courage. I don't want to hide children from the tragedies of the world, but I want them to be able to go to a place where they can be the 'heroes' and imagine themselves slaying the dragon, beating the bad guys, and using their intelligence to get out of trouble. For example in The Entwhistle Experiment: Glued, the hero Horatio, with the help of his best friends, Wheels, Ming and Snowball the cat (who is actually not his friend) uses his latest invention, Stupendous Glue, to foil the bad guys and save his parents.

My primary readers are boys and girls aged 9-12 years old. The hardest part of writing the book was trying to bring the characters to life. They were very clear in my head but it was much harder to translate them into words. The cover of my book captures Horatio very well and the cover of book 2 - Unglued (of course!) will depict the other characters.

I welcome constructive feedback from readers and try to improve my writing with each new book.
