Amanda Winn Leeabout this book: I've written a memoir about my son's battle with cancer called "The Noodle Chronicles: Everything I Know About Cheating Death I Learned From My Kid." It's a far cry form the usual "Chicken Soup For The Soul" type cancer memoir you normally see. I use a lot of irreverence and morbid humor to tackle some difficult topics. I talk about all the scary parts of being the parent of a cancer kid, but I also talk about some of the silly stuff too- like the time we started a betting pool with the nurses on when my son would lose his hair. There is some strong language in it, but as my dear Aunt Vicki says, sometimes no other words will do.
Before my son was born, I had fairly active career in anime and doing voice over for video games. Then Noodle came along with this cancer thing, and it all got shot to hell. I started writing as a combination of therapy and something to do while spending countless hours in hospital and doctors' waiting rooms. Somehow a book came out of it.
