L. L. Waltersabout this book: "Elves Up North – A Family for Castor" is a chapter book with mild interactive activity. Although a children's story, it was written for all ages to participate in the adventure.
The tale is about a little Elf who learns that sometimes family members don't always have to be related. Along the way, become part of the story, meet your new friends, a wizard named "The Maestro", two mice named Misty and Mistletoe, the Elves of Table 12, and help Santa save Christmas this season. With diverse characters and even some with special needs, it shows Santa's workshop as the "real" world of today.
I am the mother of 3 and grandmother to 3 beautiful multicultural children. However, after spending 10 years visiting my Father in an assisted living home, and then bringing him to live with me for another 5 years, I also saw first hand a major problem we, as a society, are faced with. Too many times, (and I capitalize out of respect here…) our Elderly start feeling like they don't belong.
However, no matter what your age, the holidays are the best time to make smiles and new memories with family and friends. So, whether reading to the little ones at bedtime or out loud to a group, "Elves Up North – A Family for Castor" encourages everyone to feel involved and join in on the fun!
