Angela H. Holmesabout this book: This book was written to provide humor, hope ans inspiration to family caregivers.
To keep me sane while caring for my mom, I started a blog about a year ago based on the challenging but sometimes funny shenanigans that my mom Grace, our dogs and I encounter while dealing with her illness.
Even if you aren't religious I add a hope inspiring scripture before each story to encourage other caregivers. Everyone can use hope especially when dealing with a relative's illness can't they?
The hardest part of writing the book was while writing, often things would be going on that I had to stop mom or my dogs from doing as I wrote.Instead of seeing them as distractions I just added them to the book.
While writing this book I learned that I can't control my mom's dementia, but I can control how I look at things. Keeping a positive attitude creates a loving healthy environment for her and my family. I am nt always able to do this but that's why I make myself read a scripture, exercise and do art so I can get back to that place.
I hope this book gives you a laugh break and you pick it up when you think no one understands or cares what you are going through.
