The second features a retired businessman, victim of a disastrous marriage and a failed relationship who drifts into alcohol dependency before meeting a victim of domestic abuse who has developed a fear of men. They form a relationship.
The third story follows a young Scottish man who joins the Royal Nave on the eve of the Second World War having been obliged to marry a girl whom he has made pregnant. He is severely wounded at #Dunkirk and returns to a marriage which has turned ugly.
Number 4 is about a young man who leaves his Scottish home to find work. He is framed for a series of crimes and is made homeless. This is his story.
